[gardeners] Thursday in the garden

Went out for a bit this afternoon with the digital camera. Took pictures of the
red LA iris just in case. This is an amazing plant. Has at least 4 blooms on
each stalk, each opening in turn from the top down. None of our other iris do
this. Also took pictures of the bronze and the pale lavender plus pictures of
the front entry and the plantings there. Our antique roses, one unnamed and the
other called Anne's Red by the Texas Rose Rustlers, are blooming and the
climbing Peace rose has it's annual one blossom on it.
Extra pictures were made of the veggie garden in transition, some winter/fall
plants still producing and the green beans and zukes coming up good. Threw in a
shot or two of the fruit trees, my herb garden and the stuff up on the patio in
pots. Another shot is of the famous Ponderosa lemon tree, coming out of full
bloom now and still with a couple of lemons ripening.
May get out in the early morning tomorrow and shoot some interior pictures of
the greenhouse contents and the new ginger/LA iris bed on the east side of the
house. Now all I have to do is find a place to post them, maybe that website
that everyone else seems to use. Really should get busy and make my own web site
as my ISP does give me space for one.
Anyway, busy day is now slowing down. Did a few hours money work this early am,
took the Mantis and the mower in for their spring tuneups, visited Walmart for a
few necessities and the same at Walgreen's. Went by the library for my weekly
visit and picked up my six books for this weekend and the nights till next week.
Visited my friend Sam and his family for about an hour. He's recovered very
nicely from a balloon angioplasty with stent in his left leg and is ready for
next weeks same-same to the left carotid. His blockage in the right leg is
bypassing itself according to the nuke test that was done. First time he's been
in a hospital since 1967 when his plane went down while landing in Thailand.
Lucky fellow that one.
I think I'll go out and admire the property. Life is bery, bery, good.
