So my 3 cayenne plants (used to be 4, but one got left too close to the window, doh!) that I planted at the end of last August have some fruit on them. 1 chile per plant, and the plants seem to be reluctant to develop more. 'Course, the weather hasn't been what it could be for them, so that's ok. One of the chile's has started turning red though. I am very happy. How will I know when it is ripe? As soon as it is completely red? Will it turn bright red, then dark red? I am pleased beyond words that I have anything on those plants. I keep them in front of a plastic wrapped window, so they won't get much cold air on them, but I can only keep the room at about 65 degrees (stupid electric baseboard heat keeps the electric company in business). I frequently forget to water them until they are wilted (I know that is supposed to increase heat, but losing one plant to carelessness makes me nervous about the others). On a side note, has anyone ever gone to Red Lobster and tried the Louisiana Sally's Catfish? I had that a couple weeks ago, and I was very impressed. I had a good amount of heat and tasted very good. I think I may try it again this weekend. It may be that someone at our local branch has a taste for heat and throws a little more on than he/she's supposed to. -Ben == ________________ ____/ \ Ben Holm `------______ / ___ / bholm@yahoo.com `-- /_/ \_\______________---------------' _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
