MsBear just received the catalog, too. They must have bought a
good mailing list. We had never heard of Penzey's before, which is
a shame. Well, better late than never.

I checked the AltaVista seach engine and found they have a web
site at <http://www.penzeys/com> which tells something about the
company and also has the entire catalog (a previous edition) in
downloadable PDF format for those who can't wait for snail mail.
(You need the free Adobe Acrobat software to view or print PDF
files.)

I sent them an email note and received a prompt reply that they
are developing an HTML format catalog for the web and have a
secure server planned for online ordering. In the interim, they
will accept one's credit card and shipping instructions via
telephone or fax, keep it on file, and accept e-mail orders if one
references their having one's information on file.

Their prices look quite reasonable and many of their products are
available in a range of sizes from small bottles to 1-pound bags.
There are also many good-sounding recipes in the catalog and quite
a bit of information about spices, their history, origins, use,
packaging, storage, etc.

And, lest I get whacked, here is the disclaimer: This is not a
commercial posting; I have no economic or personal connection to
the company mentioned; I do not now nor ever have known anyone who
ever was acquainted with anyone who may have known or been acquainted
with the special prosecutor -- er, ooops, wrong disclaimer. ;)

Cheers,
