[CH] Cruising for chiles

We are back from our family cruise to the Caribbean. It was like being
trapped in a Fellini movie. I was never able to get any hot food on the
boat. When I ordered a chile omelet I received a black pepper omelet.
BLEECH! All was not lost however. The rare times they let us off the boat
for a while resulted in some fruitful chile hunting. I was able to bring
my own into the dining room after that.
A question for Hoosier growers.....I found the habaneros in the Yucatan to
be far far hotter than any Habanero I have grown here in the Midwest. The
aroma was particularly pungent also. Anyone else found this to be the
same?
I visited a store in Cozumel called Puro Chile and the owner was full of
great info and suggestions. (Thanks Jeff Samelson for telling me to stop
there). If anyone goes to Cozumel I highly reccommend a stop at her store.

After reading yesterday's posts I am somewhat hesitant to mention this
but.....my bedding plant catalog will go oout later than planned to
incorporate some of the new finds. If this mention offends anyone, please
flame me in private. I just wanted to let people on the list know that the
catalogs will be on the way late.
Thanks,
Susan
