Nicotine is an extremely potent poison and even minute amounts can kill. It is absorbed through the skin and one has to be very careful in handling it. It does not degrade rapidly and in many states it is illegal to use it anywhere near food plants It is toxic to birds, fish, etc and those in turn will be toxic to other animals that eat them. In addition you can transmit tobacco mosaic virus to tomato, potato plants and others affected by this blight. Incidentally, people have been sued and lost the suits when they ave used this poison in their own gardens but have inadvertently poisoned pets that wandered into their yards. -- Andie Paysinger & the PENDRAGON Basenjis,Teafer,Cheesy,Singer & Player asenji@earthlink.net So.
