After enduring a night of no power, 70mph winds, trees and shingles flying everywhere, and a day of clean up, tarping the roof, felling broken trees and all that other fun post-storm activity, my life was brightened by the presence of a brown envelope in the mail containing a generous sampling of Calvin's pepper powder. After reading all the positive posts regarding the powder to actually have the substance in my hands was exhilarating. I tried it plain, well with a little finger flavor mixed in, and on a dinner of baked chicken. Calvin you've captured so many of those hard to explain flavors that draw us to Chile-Headonism. It's a nice, rather subtle blend of flavors. I am anxious to try it on as many different things as I can. How about calling it Calvin's Magnificent Seven for the seven Capsaicinoids present in the powder. Maybe a bit pretentious? Not until you've tried it! Now, with my 4oz. bottle of Jim's Apple-smoked Hab powder and my modest quantity of Calvin's pepper blend I am an embarassment of riches. Now if the roofers would just get here........
