Well, being a native St. Louisan, you'd think I'd know some good places
to find the burn. I'm drawing a bit of a blank right now, but I can
suggest a couple of chile-related Mexican places. I've been meaning to
give this place a try, but my friend swears by El Miguey. Sounds like
the menu is extensive, and there are some items with a kick of the
"juice". The other place you could try is Pueblo Neuvo. The menu, as I
recall (I've only been there once), isn't too chile intensive, but they
have a pretty decent chile raja. Good flavor, but since we're talking
poblano, there's really no heat. If you want a change of pace... :-)
Both of these have multiple locations.

I don't follow the blues scene, but you might try some places at
Laclede's Landing, maybe Mississippi Nights. Occasionally, we have a
blues festival (usually mid- to late-summer). The warmer months bring
out a lot of bands at the Landing. But St. Louis is not like the French
Quarter, where you'll hear music everywhere throughout the streets. You
have to look around a little...
