Just recieved a package in the mail from good ol mom. She is almost as infatuated with chile peppers as I, so we tend to swap recipes and the occasional bottle of hot sauce. I open the box to find an assortment of, Datil Do it, hot sauces made from the Datil pepper. The first bottle that caught my eye was the Devil Drops hot sauce. Immediately I stripped the bottle of the plastic flow restrictor and dumped a healthy amount on my fish sandwich. WOW!! That stuff has a serious kick. I was very pleasantly surprised. Does anyone know any history behind the Datil pepper? Where does it rank on the Scoville scale?
