Ever since I contacted u and begged, whined, grovelled for a sample of the much-raved-at powder, I haved looked for thye postal-person<g> to bring a sinister brown pkg. It came Sat( 02/21/98). I was busy doing the S>S>S before going to work, but asked the SO to open it.. Inside was this plastic baggie( Drum-roll,please! ). Immed. I did the "finger-test". Now, not being a dyed-in_the_wool cast-iron stomach types as are many on the digest, I was apprehensive. [ voice lowers drastically 2 octaves!!!] Y-E-E-E-S!!!!! Color: Yellowish-orange. Suggestive of Tumeric. So What! Taste: Suits me to a T. Not over-powering, but quite good. Sort of a Carribean flavor. ( habs, right?) Texture: So far, I have not seen an excessive amount of caking, as was led to believe would be the case. Think would prefer a tad coarser(-2SP??) powder. That would allow it to leave the spoon easier. Aroma: Like I said, I stopped everything when ur pkg arrived. I immediately had to whiff it, THEN did tasting. I was careful (sorta, kinda ) not to stick mu snoz too close to baggie, but got an [interesting] sniff of it. I really liked the aroma!! Keep as is,please. Heat: agin, as a middle-of-the-road CH, This is just about where I want it. I can always add some more to bump up the heat, but since so many of my friends are wary of my food, I have to be careful as to what & Where,eh? Beside, my having a Hy.Hyrn. doesnt help. As for $$$$<US> well, after seeing how much some companies charge for a vinegary sorta hot sauce, dont sweatit. Will tell about some cooking ,later. THANK YOU, THANK YOU . Go for the Gold on this one, Calvin! Florida ( G.T.B area at least!) awaits you. Ed Calvert PS> Have no idea why my SO's signature comes up, when I'm prim. on this<%^)>
