Well, I was in Toronto so this sign I saw outside a restaurant advertised a hockey game, not a dueling entree. Stopped me short, though. I want to thank all the past and current Torontonians who gave me such excellent advice about where to eat--here's my report. Edmiston, I didn't get up to the roti shop in Kensington, but was saved and revived after my first job interview by "Roti Express," on Simcoe St. outside the convention center. I had a goat roti (curried goat and potato in a tortilla-like wrap), with a delicious hot sauce. Just a little take-out stand, but a lifesaver in convention-ville. Leslie Duncan, I had a fabulous dinner at Little India, which no longer offered dosais (or they weren't on the dinner menu) but had the most delicate samosas I've ever eaten (but with a sweet rather than tamarind-sour sauce), and a lamb vindaloo that left my lips burning. Jonathan Smillie, Acme Bar & Grill had great Buffalo wings--I didn't go off the menu and get extra-hot wings, but settled for the merely hot (eating alone, so sweating and panting wouldn't have been amusing, merely embarrassing. Well, not amusing to me, anyway). There was extra sauce provided on the table, and the waitress offered to bring other brands, if I had wanted. I wish I'd had longer to stay--Queens Road West seemed to have a likely-looking eatery every few doors--I'll just have to go back. Thanks again, Margo
