Hello everyone. Someone mentioned they had bad luck with Shepherd's Red Savina seeds. The majority of pepper plants I grew last year were Red Savinas, and they all came from seed purchased from Shepherd's Garden Seeds. I had around 30 plants. While I didn't have any problems with germination or growth, I did get a wide variety of pod shapes, sizes, and heat ranges. It seemed to me that almost all of the seeds had been cross pollinated with other varieties at some point in time. There were one, or maybe two plants that seemed to fit the descriptions and pictures I'd seen of Red Savinas. The rest were all slightly different, some having very thick walls like a New Mexico variety, and less heat than typical Habs. I had wondered how many other people had experienced this. Does anyone know of another source for Red Savina Habanero seeds? Thanks. P.S. The other varieties I tried from Shepherd's were all uniform and did very well.
