I can't rubber gloves either. I have taken to using a fork and a steak knife. I don't do a ton of peppers at once and I probably would not win a speed contest. But I am getting pretty adept at it and it solves the problem for me. I usually make salsa nowadays by roasting both jalepenos and tomatoes right on the grill and peeling them, then quickly saute onion with what ever else you want on the stove and toss in the peppers and tomatoes chopped up
