Hi CHs
"Chilli (sic) peppers may help reduce the inflammation and pain of
arthritis, according to a study by London-based hospital St Bartholomew's.
According to the study team, the nervous system produces chemicals which
cause inflammation. Suppressing that reaction may also suppress arthritis.
Capsaicin, the substance which makes chillies hot, appeared to inhibit the
nerves which produce inflammation. Earlier studies have shown that rubbing
it on joints can relieve pain. However, the jury is still out on whether
eating lots of curries will produce the same effect."
Haven't we been saying this for a while now? Can we get a study grant?
Cheers
Chris
