The worst Mexican food I ever had was at Chuy's in Van Horn, TX. I didn't think it was a chain having never seen one before or since, but maybe it was the same as in Austin. The flautas or chimi's (meat fried in a tortilla) were so hard we couldn't eat them and tasted 2 days old. Horrible. My husb. ordered something else, this time oysters (don't ask me why, at Chuy's) and when they came they were SQUARE! They weren't very good either! My favorite Mexican food was at Leo's in El Paso where all our relatives eat and took us there several times when we visited them over the years. There's a possibility we may go to TX and Las Cruces, NM shortly and I know of a couple of places there to try, including La Posta in Mesilla. It was closed for Labor Day last time we were there.
