Just back from Jim & Linda McGrath's Hotluck in Concord, Mass. Endless goodies and even the weather cooperated...the monsoon shut off at the stroke of noon. Jim has a new custom built trailer smoker that looks like a cross between a Mississippi River Boat (twin stacks) and a Stealth Bomber. Ribs, pork, beef, sausage...I'm so ashamed...uh...stuffed. John Gunterman brough Mint Chocoalte Chip Habanero ice cream. Nice an cool and not very hot...until you stopped eating it. Several kinds of oriental type dishes that I probly couldn't spell even if I knew what they were. Loved the fish patties with chopped Thai chiles on top. Lessee...what else...Deviled Eggs (with real Devil...a fresh red Thai Chile sticking up outa each one)....Vegetarian Curry with potatos...Barbecue Beans...Chili...Steamed Clams with green chile sauce & lemon butter (mine...damn near blew myself up with the propane burner)...several spicy chicken dishes...a red seafood stew with scallops and shrimp....couple of kinds of veggie pizzas...a marvelous Chipotle Garlic dip...Day-Glo Green Beans (those were good and I don't even like green beans)...some kinda very hot shrimp on skewers...a big fruit salad with chunks of fresh pineapple...and that's just the stuff I got to before it disappeared. Chuck Demas: "Try the Cole Slaw" Me: "Uh huh...what kinda coleslaw has these little orange pepper halfs in it?" Yikes! Had everything but Salsa Twister (although I dunno what went on after I left...they were still going strong). Jim and Linda were marvelous hosts as always. This was my third trip to Concord and they just keep getting better and better. Should have world class heartburn kicking in any time now. :) JB -- ********************************* John Benz Fentner, Jr. Unionville, Connecticut, USA http://www.geocities.com/~jbenz/ "Lex Non Favet Delicatorum Votis" *********************************
