<paraindent><param>left</param>>>>>Well, I have one of them "fancy lights" and I have to say that, in just a short time I can see the difference between the plants before and after they were taken in, they have literally "come back to life"... and the true full spectrum light is really nice for a side benefit - light therapy. We here in Belgium have some of the most dismal, depressing and grey winters known to man, and the benefits of exposure to this "realistic" light has already helped me to overcome some of the blues I get when late fall begins to take it's toll. besides, a HID light is the most efficient way to get maximum lumens, that's actual LIGHT value, per Watt, so I've read. All I can say is, yeah, they be expensive, but can you actually say that you felt better after a half a day in a room full of fluorescent lights? <<S> And now we have a combination plant and sitting room that feels like a getaway vacation.... pretty cheap for all of about $100 here for a 400 watt HID light with ballast/transformer and reflector. Seems good for about 15 plants or so in an adult size, many more as seedlings, I can't wait to see how much more robust next year's starts will look under this baby.... </paraindent>Diane<<<<<< I think one advantage to the "fancy lights" would be that plants grown under them would take less time to harden-off when set back outdoors. There is defiantly a bigger gap in what the plants get going from fluorescent lights to old Mr. Sun than from HID lights to sun. ======================================================= Uncle Steve's Hot Stuff 1998 product list is available by auto response Email to: mailto:hot.chiles@usa.net =======================================================
