Here's what I have so far: The Hab's actually produced a few orange pods. But frost is coming soon and the plants are loaded with green pods. The Red Savina plants got a late start this year. The plants are gorgeous and loaded with pods, but none have ripened. The pods on the Red Savina have "stretch marks" that sort of look like tree bark. I guess the questions I'm having trouble figuring out are: How can I tell when It's OK to pick these pods? My only concern is I'd like to get some viable seeds that I can use for next years garden. Is there some way to force the fruit to ripen? I'm hoping somebody will have a trick like "store apples with your bananas to make the bananas ripen". Thanks for any suggestions anyone can offer.
