[CH] Mailing List Questions

Hello,

This is my first message to the list.  I have a couple questions.

I noticed the [CH] always appears in the subject line.  Is the [CH] added
automatically, or am I supposed to add it?  For this message I did add it,
so if it's there twice, that's why.  

What is the usual procedure to reply to a message?  
If I use "reply", the "RE:" would be added to the subject line and the
message would go the author, not the chile-heads list.  In this case 
I could re-address the message to the chile-heads before sending the
message.  Is this the type of thing most people do?
