I received the following letter yesterday from a non-chile-header (probably not for long) and after receiving his permission, I'm posting his request to the list. He would appreciate any help that anyone can give him. His name is Brooks and email address is: blancsb@wku.edu This is a portion of his letter: My name is Brooks Blanche and I am an Agronomy student at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I am originally from Louisiana, but have moved here to finish my degree. I intend on pursuing a masters degree at Louisiana State University next year. The reason I've written you is to ask if you know of any scientific research done on peppers, and if so, where and how may I obtain it. I am taking genetic improvements this semester, and have been assigned a paper that should outline some sort of genetic improvement. I love hot sauce. I would like to write my paper on peppers and tomatoes, namely, the introduction of capsaicin into a tomato plant. I think that a "hot" tomato would be great, and Rotel would be obsolete. The research I will "need" in order to complete the paper will need to be highly scientific and ideally will include some genealogical data on both peppers and tomatoes. If you can share any of the bio information you might have with me, I'd be greatly appreciative. Any thing that you can do for me will surely benefit.
