As one of the many who wondered where the heat was in the 5-alarm chili recipe, let me say it was never my intent to impugn or offend, I was generally curious about what her chili powder may have contained in order to have achieved such uncomfortable heat. Having said that, I should point out that some of us on this list use the term chilehead-hot, as opposed to what the general non chile-head public may think of as hot. This is part of (but not exclusively) why we are chile-heads. It is therefore reasonable for listmembers to have wondered about the seeming lack of the very heat in question which was the raison d'etre for the original post to the list. I am not sure if the original poster considers herself to have been flamed or not, maybe she will speak up again and let us know if we offended her. Quasi Apologetically, Porter
