It >got me wondering if people can actually experience severe medical problems >(shock, etc.) from eating a pepper that was "too hot" if you will. A friend of mine has trouble with *some* hot peppers - and jalapeno is one of them - which have an incredible laxative effect on him. He's no "pepper wuss", but some peppers just go through him like sh*t through a goose. Another acquaintance doesn't eat really hot foods at all, because he gets actual physical blisters on his lips from the capsaicin. Hate to think what would happen to him if he ate a whole bunch. >some elementary school kids down in Castle Rock CO got sick after consuming >some of Dave's Insanity but after hearing that the sickest girl allegedly >consumed 2 cap-fulls of it, an awful lot of adults would get sick off of >that amount. <grin> That much Insanity would probably make ME sick...not from the heat, but because I hate the flavor. There's another sauce out there - Gil's Crying Tongue - made from smoked habaneros and red savinas...wicked heat level, but the stuff tastes like you're taking a sip of vinegar that was used to clean out an old ashtray. <gag> === Dave Sacerdote davesas@tiac.net Resist or Serve.
