Jamaican Meat Patties posted in CH digest,, but looking at the recipe and tasting one from local supplier.. seems to me there is a lot more black pepper in them, cooked for a long time.. almost like a sloppy joe texture.. the heat value is medium - hot to most people- so cook the filling for a loooooong time make the wrapper about 6 to 7" in dia, then fold make the pocket and bake... the pocket is not browned but, yellow and buttery hope this gets you closer to the real thing.. Hartford CT as a good selection of bakeries, one on Albany Ave - I'll try to get the other addresses if interested Chet Dave Sacerdote wrote: > >do you want the one that comes in the pie-dough type wrapper? > > That's the one, mon. :-) > === > Dave Sacerdote > davesas@tiac.net > Resist or Serve. > "I am so mighty, I do not have to kill you all." -- Flaming Carrot > Visit Dave's New England Almanac: http://www.tiac.net/users/davesas -- *-----------------------------------------------------------------* * Chet Bacon KA1ILH | Okay, who put a * * PO Box 284 | "stop payment" on my * * Southington, CT 06489 | reality check? * * E-Mail: | Homepage: * * hcbacon@connix.com | http://www.connix.com/~hcbacon * * cbacon@connix.com(work) | http://www.connix.com/~cbacon (work) * *-----------------------------------------------------------------* * Adopt a Doberman Help end puppy mills! www.dru.org * *-----------------------------------------------------------------*
