Those who are into heat for heat's sake are, as far as I'm concerned macho poseurs no matter their physical plumbing. Most of us use chiles to add flavour to otherwise bland dishes. I think that "hot" is a grouping like sweet, sour and salt. But hot just for the burn is goofy - in my not-so-humble opinion.
