The Flame Tamer is a good idea.  My stove cooks too high even on the lowest
setting. However, I think a crockpot or a Nesco roaster or other slow cooker
is the best way to keep things from sticking/burning.  I got a 12 qt. Nesco
roaster from QVC since hardly any stores carry anything but the 18 qt. size
electric roasters and it was too big for the 2 of us.  Nesco also makes a 4
qt.  They are terrific for baking and roasting as well as making stew,
chili, spaghetti sauce, etc.
