Hey, everyone, it's February -- since the majority of the subscribers are house bound, without fresh chiles (or, at least without access to the garden), things tend to wander. It happens every year. In another month or less people in the southern areas will be planting and things will drift back on topic. I tolerate short drifts about related topics; I don't really like the list to go beyond that as I think that's not what people subscribe for. Other things that don't belong on this list include virus warnings (except Capsicum virus's), chain letters, spam of any sort (notice the spam content has dropped off to zero the last few months? -- I still get 2-5 a week caught by my anti-spam traps, and I persue them back to their ISPs), blatent commercialism/advertising (ask me first if you aren't sure), etc. The topics are well spelled out in the list charter (see http://neptune.netimages.com/~chile/list.html). One line messages of the "you're right, etc" type are better sent to the individual posting, as are more personal comments/replies.
