Dear Chile-Heads - I am a late-comer to this list, merely because I didn't
know about its existence until fairly recently.  I subscribe to the digest
for convenience.  This is a very good list for what it is designed to do.
I have my own list, dealing with science, history and religion.  I gave up
long ago trying to police what people send.  As long as someone doesn't
overdo the off-topic postings, why not let them send a joke or something
else through sometimes?  Occasionally some "purist" will join and start
complaining about all the off-topic posts and say something like "I thought
this list was supposed to be about XXXXX!"  People are people.  We all have
"moods" that make us do "off-topic" things, whether at a list or in real
life.  Certain folks need to lighten up a bit.

If you live in a place where you can obtain the Ethiopian spices "berberei"
and "mitmita," and wish to get a recipe for an Ethiopian hot sauce, let me
know.
