Just wanted to say hi. I am new to the list as of today. I have been reading through your archives for quite awhile. Love reading the threads that go through the chile-heads. Thought I was in the right place. To introduce myself, I thought I would show you what is in my refrigerator and cupboards at the moment: Tabasco Habanero Sauce Tabasco Pepper Sauce Tabasco Spicy Soy Sauce Mo Hotta Mo Betta Thai Tamarind Hot Sauce Kadoya Hot Sesame Oil A Taste of Thai Garlic Chile Pepper Sauce D'Atl Do-It Sauce Sambal Badjak Chile Paste with Fermented Soy Beans Wemrock Orchards Jalapeno Jelly (local place) Chef Chow's Szechuan Hot Bean Paste Lan Chi Chile Paste with Garlic Troy's Natural Chipotle Sauce Troy's Natural Jerk Sauce Yucatan Sunshine Habanero Pepper Sauce Frank's Original Red Hot Jump Up & Kiss Me Bryana's Roasted Garlic & Habanero Spread Salsa Arriba! I made a version of THE BREAD a few weeks ago. I used 1 tsp habanero (since I didn't have any of the red sativa) and it came out wonderful. Even my non-ch husband enjoyed it altho' he didn't see any point in putting chiles in bread. To him bread is to calm the tongue down, not heat it up. I just finished it yesterday. I made a wonderful grilled cheese sandwich with it. That is what I did with it mostly. I did use it to sop up chile juices too. Yum. I'll be making another batch this week but I will add an additional 1/2 tsp habanero powder to it. Now a little about myself... My name is Risa. I am a 38 year old mother of 1. He is 3 years old. I have enjoyed chiles for many years but I find I am enjoying even hotter ones lately. A couple of years ago I started to enjoy the jalapeno rings that were on top of the nachos at mexican restaurants a little more. It didn't seem to burn as much. So I started growing chiles - some successfully, and some not. About 4 years ago, I grew Anaheims and Hungarian Hot Wax. They both grew really well. The next year, I just grew Anaheims because I needed more room for the other crops (and I don't have a lot of room). Then the year after I grew Pretty In Purple peppers in pots. Really cute and nice heat. Tried growing them again the year after and the seedlings didn't really grow well. I tried poblanos and serranos. The serranos grew pretty well. I have also grown jalapenos from a plant at the garden center. They grew really well. Maybe I'll try them again this year. I know I am blabbering on and on. I'll stop now. Just wanted to introduce myself. Hi Chile-Heads. Glad to be among the great ones... RisaG Iselin, NJ
