Ok! I can't take it any more. My grandmother used to make something she called "Last of the Garden Relish" I'm afraid with her death she took the recipe with her. I've loved this stuff since I was a little kid. I loved it so much I used to bug her about what she put in it. I remember green 'maters, carrots, vinegar, onions and mustard seed. I know there was a bunch of other stuff in there but I can't remember exactly. She served it to everyone else as a garnish with a roast beef dinner but I got some whenever I wanted. Anyone with this recipe would have my everlasting gratitude. She also made something she called "green tomato preserves" which wasn't green at all but red in color and marvelous to the palate. I'm afraid that one went to her grave as well. She used to make fried bread and slather it with this stuff. Pure heaven!
