Babs The folks that use Miracle Gro as a 1 to 4 shots, don't have too many problems, Its the folks that read the label and follow the instructions. IE 1 TBSP per gal, every 2 weeks. that have a lot of problems. I find that most garden products, reading the label and following the printed instructions yeilds the best results. Except for Scotts fertilizer products. As far as weather goes. About 20 years ago I was talking to an older County Agent from Coos County NH; Zone 3A. He said he felt that plants also react to "Heating Degree Days", the same factor as used in calculating home heating fuels. As I got older I think he was right. It takes just so many days of the right temperature for a plant to grow and bear and ripen fruit or mature. Also assuming correct amounts of fertilizer and water. The closest thing I have seen to his statement is "Days to Maturity depends on growing conditions" Where spring has sprung and leaking out all over the place. Byron
