This recipe is from the book" Too Many Chiles" by Nancy and Jeff Gerlach. I have made this and is very easy and far better than store bought powder. Experiment with different chiles for hotter or milder taste. Chili Powder 5tablespoons ground New Mexican red chile 1tablespoon ground hot chile, such as picquin or chiltepin 1-1/2tablespoons ground cumin 1-1/2tablespoons ground oregano 1-1/2tablespoons garlic powder 1teaspoon salt Enjoy- Paul Smith, Clarkridge,AR. -----Original Message----- From: GarryMass@aol.com <GarryMass@aol.com> To: chile-heads@globalgarden.com <chile-heads@globalgarden.com> Date: Thursday, March 18, 1999 7:48 PM Subject: [CH] Chili (not chile) powder >Someone of us posted a homemade chili powder recipe, contained oregano, cumin >as I recall.
