Patience, Ray! I had 12 out of 13 varieties I was starting germinate in 4-6 days. The Southwest chilies wouldn't budge under identical conditions so I went and started some more. Well those germinated in 4 days and then 3 days later the original ones FINALLY sprouted also. Go figure! I know some other varieties of seeds require light or dark to geminate but I haven't heard this mentioned of peppers, maybe someone knows if light matters. I have two set ups- one an aquarium with a fluorescent fixture, the other a heated bottom mini greenhouse. I personally think I'm finding the ones under the lights germinate faster tho you wouldn't think it would matter. Just keep em warm and moist and maybe start some more like I did if time is important to you. I had the best morning in the garden transplanting my babies into pots. Peter, aji, rooster spur, Thai, congo, squash, scotch bonnet, red and orange habs, bird, yoyo, caro cayenne, yat, to name a few! Plus some concho di toro, 4 kinds of basils, roma and sweet mill tomatoes. Now the hassletime begins! Hardening off, weather watching obsessively, shufflin in and out of the sun, the winds, the cool nites! btw, HAPPY DINGUS DAY everybody!!! Eat some chiles with those pierogis!
