Have any UK (or elsewhere) Chile-Heads tried Ferns' "Chilli Pickle" ?
If not, treat yourself. It's been available here for years but for some
reason I never tried it until a week ago. It's miles better than anything
Patak's make. It contains whole and chopped green Cayennes in a thick
dark sauce of spices, oil and vinegar (well, acetic acid + water).
Other ingredients are sesame oil, salt, chile powder, sugar, spices and
mustard seeds.

I had lashings of this stuff in a cheese sandwich for lunch and it's
awesome. Hot, sweet, sour and very spicy. I've got the lid off the
jar now and [sniff, sniff - mmmmm] the chile smell is very fresh
and the spicing is just right [sniff, sniff - mmmmm]. I've heard of
solvent abuse but chile pickle abuse?????

Ferns' products are made in India and are imported into the UK. You
can find them in most large Asian grocers here. Which brings me on to ....

Can you get any Ferns' products in the US? I hope so, then you can try
the chile pickle, but the reason I ask is because a visitor
to my Web site who lives in Houston is desperate to get hold of some
of their curry paste. If it is available in the US would someone
please write to me off list with the name / address / telephone
number of the importer. Thanks.

cheers,

David
