Hello, fellow Chile-Headers:) I am finally de-lurking after about 4 months here. I just wanted to recommend a wonderful Mexican cookbook bye the name of _Cocina de la Familia-, by Marilyn Tausend (N.Y. Simon&Schuster, 1997). Marilyn grew up as the daugher of a produce broker and traveled with her father all over California and the Southwest. While in the fields, Mexican women took her under their wing and taught her real home-style Mexican cooking, utilizing chiles to the max. The book is a fun read, too: she visits Mexican American families all over the U.S.A who have a local reputation of being good cooks, and wherever possible, obtains recipes. In addition, she has visited many little corner/hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants (even one in a car wash!) which have excellent reputations with the local Mexican population, and has pursuaded many to divulge their recipes, as well. I hope you all enjoy this wonderful, recenty-published book that shows chiles off to their best advantage. Ron Hay, Van Nuys, CA
