Hi all

Back on the list after a bit of an absence.

Things down here in Tasmania are starting to slow down in the garden. Even
the hydroponically grown plants are stopping, although I am still cropping a
few jalapenos and rocotos.

This is my first season growing rocotos (thanks Mark) and I think I've found
chilli heaven! The size, flavour and "fleshiness" of the fruit is spot on.
I have a couple planted outside and they appear to have survived the first
frosts well with no signs of wilting or burning. Hopefully I've found the
perfect chilli for the colder climes.

As to rocotos, I hope to have a bit of extra seed left at the end of the
season, so if there are any c'heads in Oz who might want some, let me know
and I'll see what I can do. (Swaps for anything interesting would be good
if possible).

On another note, is there any real advantage to overwintering chillis
(besides the rocotos)? Most of what I've read seems to say that you may as
well start with fresh seed each season. Any ideas or comments?

I'm already planning for next season. I've just moved to a place with a few
acres and plenty of water, so I'm planning pretty big!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd say g'day to all those out there.

Cheers

Dale (in the south of the south in the land of OZ).
