While working a show a few years back, I had some of Blairs' Sudden Death (extract super hot) in a dish on the table along with several of my own. A young mother and her maybe 4 year old son came up & started chatting. As they approached the table I could hear the Mom repeatedly tell the child not to touch anything. Can we see this one coming? During a moment when I was distracted discussing sauces with her, the child reached up and grabbed a handful of the Sudden Death. I'm shouting as I dive over the table, but am too late to stop him from smearing it into his face and mouth. It isn't soon before he is SCREAMING in pain & I felt about 2 inches tall with all kinds of legal hassles running through my head. His mom, bless her, simply said- that's what you get for not listending to me, maybe next time you will. (My father always used to tell me that 'the burnt finger teaches best' :-) I sprung for ice cream for them & she returned some time later with a kid wiser but no worse for the wear. -Jim C MWPH
