Reply to <tony@nzol.net.nz> Hi all, Greetings from Perth Western Australia, where I am having a stopover with my son and daughter who live here with five of my grandchildren. Chiles and spicy food seem to be more available here than in New Zealand due probably to the mix of nationalities. Chiles grow all the year round as frost is unknown. Almost every home I have visited has a couple of chile plants in the garden, mainly cayenne and one or two that I don't recognise. The purple ornamental that my wife planted a couple of years ago is about three foot high and covered in fruit. Lots of self sow small plants are around the garden. The only chiles I have seen in the shops are very large(by my standards from a cooler climate) cayenne both red and green at $A4.00 per kilo(2.25lbs) No doubt there are places where others would be available. I am surprised that there seem to be no CH's on the list from here as it is a great place for growing and eating chiles. Leave here on Sunday to return to London UK after 34 years to visit older brothers and sisters. I am receiving the digest which is being forwarded from NZOL to Hotmail so can keep in touch from time to time. Postcard from London in a week or two. Tony Flynn
