Hi Joanne,
I'm a resident of Hesperia, CA and probably the Mexican Restaurant where you
ate was La Casitas. They opened with a very tiny place on the east side of
town, then moved to a large facility in the Albertson's shopping center.
About 3 years ago, they moved back to their original location, probably
because of the high rent, but their food has always been fabulous.
It's pretty much family run, and the proprietors came from Mexico
originally. When we first started going there, the gal who seated people,
spoke very limited English. Now she's quite fluent in both languages.
It's been enjoyable eating there these past 15 (?) years or so. I can't
remember exactly when they opened. They also had a small restaurant in
Victorville for a few years, but it's long closed now. And they still go
out of their way to give you exactly what you want.
Anyway, just for what it's worth. If you ever get back to Hesperia, check
it out again, also might try Los Domingo's. Salsa is to die for :)
