Hello Chile Heads! My Seranno peppers are really growing ! The plant is about 3 foot high and is just covered with peppers. My question is, when are they ready for picking? The largest ones are about 1-1 1/2 " long, a deep green color. I've not grown these before and don't want to harvest them too soon. My tomatos are starting to ripen, picked the first ones yesterday. I'm ready to make some salsa! I've got tiny baby habs and jalapenos, and huge hot bananna peppers. My husband has been putting the banannas on pizza, but we are ready for something hotter. Another question. When should I pick my Hot Cayenne Peppers? They are still green, but some are about 3.5" long. It's my first year growing them too. Last week I cooked some broil in the bag chicken. It was supposed to be made with chicken wings, but I used chicken breasts. I'm not sure the name brand, but it comes in a red package, with the bag and the seasoning, which is pretty hot and tasty. The ingredients just said "spices", not sure what kind of peppers, but it was hot! Anyway, I cut the chicken and it splattered in my eye. Forget Hunan Hand or The Ring of Fire! I had "Fire Eye". I thought I would die, but when I realized that I'd live I finished the chicken and drank a gallon of water ! Any suggestions, besides dunking my head in the sink, for a remedy when this happens?
