Scott, If you are interested in obtaining a "Tooth-ache Tree" as my grandparents called it, look along fence rows for small saplings. They are very common in the counties east and south of Austin. I would guess that the birds must be fond of the berries. Most fence row plantings are courtesy of the birds. I have found it common in the eastern 2/3 of Texas. It is scattered on my property in Bastrop County near shrubs like Youpon Holly where birds like to perch. One of the trees is about 20' tall and 8" in diameter.
