Down in Oz during summer, we cook lots of BBQ's and I always go and get some chiles to throw on. The get a great flavour and soften up and seem to increase in heat. Also chiles that are a bit bitter tend to sweeten up. If you haven't tried this I highly recommend it. A word of warning... Prick them as you put them on or they tend to explode.
