Some time back I mentioned to Judy Howle that I had a recipe for an insecticidal spray, and I have been hunting for it ever since. My dear wife, who usually knows where absolutely everything is, finally came up with it...we used this years ago, and I am sure it will still work for all you folks who are being "bugged" by various pests in the chile patch. Whirl in a blender,1 onion, 4 garlic cloves and one teaspoon of hot pepper sauce...I imagine that Dave's insanity would be just fine, we use Tabasco, and one quart of water....strain the ensuing mess through a cloth and pour into ice cube tray and store in a freezer. Use 1 ice cube in a qt spray bottle filled with water and 1 tsp of liquid soap or insecticidal soap, which helps the spray to adhere to the target plants. Try this I think you will like it.
