All the recipes I heard of call for 1 Tbs. antibacterial soap to a GALLON of water. The large amount of soap may have caused them to burn up in the sun. Not sure about listerine's effects, but it isn't necessary with antibac. soap. I sprayed a pepper with Roundup because the grass was taller than it was, so I immed. dug it up and washed it with water mixed with about a fourth cup of vinegar since you are supposed to use vinegar water to wash out your sprayer after Roundup so it won't hurt the plants when you use it for plant food. Works good, never killed one yet. Anyway, a few of the leaves turned black and gooey on the ends but it survived and it doing ok.
