Yes - this happened to me to. Andre's Listerine spray not only caused my leaves to turn yellow; it outright killed seven plants I had been overwintering. Gee, Robert, I am sorry you had such problems. What kind of soap did you use? I use the same mix all the time. Used it today, in fact. I do not drench the plants, just spray lightly where the aphids and scale insects are. I use 1/2 strength solution in a bucket when I transplant new plants from nurserys. I invert the entire plant and dip into the bucket to make sure there are no "nasties" on my new plants. I do not spray in the middle of the day when the temps are way up there, but have been using this for years with no problems. As I made sure to note in my post. Use only Ivory liquid soap or baby shampoo ( I get the cheap store brands). Detergents are NOT recommended. I originally got this recipe from Organic Gardening magazine. You should wash the plants well, Then get a seaweed foliar nutrient solution and spray the foliage. I never recommend anything that I haven't tried myself. By the way, I also use this same spray but at 1/2 strength, to spray beans as it will discourange flea beetles. -- Andie Paysinger & the PENDRAGON Basenjis,Teafer,Cheesy,Singer & Player asenji@earthlink.net So.
