If nothing else works and you are like me and do not use poisons in your garden, try to find some predatory snails. I bought 50 of these little guys that have conical shells (very different from the bad snails) They will tackle a slug or snail many times their size (they were only about 3/4 inch long the first year) There are a few pretty large ones now and they are very busy at night. They like to live in compost or mulch around the base of plants and they do not eat plants, they are strictly carnivorous. They also will eat the odd earthworm they might stray across that is on the surface but mostly they go after slugs and the big round snails. -- Andie Paysinger & the PENDRAGON Basenjis,Teafer,Cheesy,Singer & Player asenji@earthlink.net So.
