I want to thank Curt and Susie Snyder for hosting the SoCal Hotluck yesterday, July 11, 1998. Patti and I had a great time meeting some fellow Chile-Heads (getting a chance to put names and faces together) and enjoying good food and beverage. Curt's Red Savina Ale was great (I didn't think it was too hot) and offered a malty alternative to the "hoppier" Chipotle Ale that I donated to the day. To the couple from New Zealand who brought the Jalapeno Ice Cream and seemed disappointed because it didn't turn out hot enough to suit them: don't be, it was jalapeno tasty and made for a good counter balance to THE BREAD. Speaking of The Bread, may I take this opportunity to warn my fellow Chile-Head Hotluckers who haven't partaken as yet: save "The Bread Experience" for after dinner (and just before the Jalapeno Ice Cream if you're lucky enough to have some available), else you'll likely numb yer tastebuds and might not be able to enjoy the subtle (or maybe not so subtle) nuances of the rest of the day's food offerings. I made that mistake, take heed... -- Rich McCormack (Poway, CA) macknet@cts.com Who is Rich McCormack? Find out at... http://members.cts.com/crash/m/macknet/
