Hey y'all, I just thought I'd drop a brief note about dinner last night. An even dozen turned out for dinner at Sundown Cafe, including list members Cameron, Randy, Sarah, and me. The food was good, the company excellent and, despite the efforts of the (w)itch hostess a good time was had by all. I just wish I knew how the make their roasted jalapeno gravy! My version of "the bread" was not so hot as Jim's - good enough to draw a sweat but I was definitely able to eat a bigger piece of the loaf I made. Everyone was sent home with a chunk to play with in the privacy of their own home. Randy was kind enough to whip up a batch of "Randy's Rump Rockin' Island Sauce" and gave a jar to everyone. Its a very tasty, sweet sauce with a *nice* hab kick. Maybe we can talk him into posting his recipe?!?! One thing I didn't know (well there are lots, but this was definitely one) is that Cameron makes his own chipotles in adobo. He was kind enough to pack some up and distribute some of this glorious treasure! Overall, I think it was a very good start to Cameron and family's time in Atlanta (I wonder if he and Randy really took on Stone Mountain today?). I know I really enjoyed the chance to meet up and put real personalities, faces, and accents to a few of the names on this list. I forgot I had the camera until the end, but did manage a few pictures. I'll give a website address once I get the film developed and pictures scanned. Seeing as Atlanta is a hotbed of conventions I can only hope that more of y'all will stop by at some point and we can do this often! Take care, and thanks to everyone who helped make Saturday such a great time! Suz
