[CH] Tabasco, finally.

We experienced a record temperature for July 15 yesterday in Lompoc, 86ºF
and one of the many buds on my Tabascos (that have been teasing me for
weeks) finally blossomed. It's supposed to get to 87ºF today, more
blossoms I hope!

My wife, a fledgling CH, made an Oriental stir-fry last night that made my
nose run without any augmentation. She used chile paste she picked up in
the Oriental section of the supermarket and chopped a couple of air-dried
red ripe Serranos from last year. I was quite surprised at the heat
provided by the Serranos and, after dinner, went out to offer words of
encouragement to my two over-wintered Serranos. They have been more than
willing to blossom and quite reluctant to set fruit. Could it be the 50ºF
night temperatures >:-(?

In Chiles,

Doug
