Hi all, long time no post,

Small world. It's my regular shop too and I was even there on Sat.
a.m. !! We could have been looking at the chiles at the same time.
You weren't the woman picking out all the best habs were you?

They also now sell ancho powder, chipotles and dried habs but, like
the Dave's Insanity, at a HUGE price. GBP 2.99 for 30gm I think. And
I've even spotted blue corn meal (but you need a mortgage to pay for
it)

My chiles are doing well here in S. Oxfordshire. I'm only growing
Fresnos and Cayennes this year but I'm getting lots of fruit and the
Cayennnes especially are decently hot. Had some as a garnish on a
curry the other night, (the curry was already pretty hot) popped half
a Cayenne in my mouth and nearly took off !!! Much hotter than
supermarket chiles. It's the way you stress 'em that counts.

I have also tried the poppers from Tesco and like Paul was _very_
disappointed. No heat at all and very greasy. Yuch. So, Graeme you're
not missing much.

I've been sent a nice selection of hot sauces from over the pond. A
few Bufalo chipotle (yummmy), Brutal Bajan, Pyromania, Melinda's XXX
and Endorphin Rush. Also a bottle of home-made sauce made with
Habanero, Pequin, Tabasco and Poblano chiles. It is the nicest hot
sauce I've ever tasted. Immensely hot but with so much flavour the
tears in your eyes are from joy as well as heat. I'm working my way
through the others.

Well, that's my summer postcard,

cheers,

David
