I'm growing chiles in big pots on my deck for the second year now. I've got Big Jim, Sandia, Barker, Jalapeno Vera Cruz, and Hungarian hot wax. All of the plants are doing great with lush growth and many, many chiles. However, none of them have much heat. The jalapenos and wax peppers have mild heat but the rest have none. The Sandia's I grew last year were very hot and the Barker's are supposed to be even hotter. Does anyone have any ideas why my chiles have no heat? I live in Maryland, growing conditions seem very good this summer, and I have a bumper crop. I have these chiles all growing fairly close together and there is quite a bit of crosses between the chiles (e.g. a Big Jim that is short, fat, yellowish, and is growing upright!) Please, HELP ME GET MY HEAT BACK! Cy
