I have been reading different articals from your page for several months now and I have found a lot of useful information. I have only really been into hot foods for a year or so, and I never would have guessed at all the flavors I was missing by isolating myself from peppers. Anyway, this spring I started a pepper garden using the meager seed supplies in my area (Rochester, MN). And I managed to work up Habaneros, Volcano, Cayenne, and Thai and a bunch of others that I never got around to planting. I am working on a hydroponic setup, but I found my checking account suddenly dry after buying about 2/3 of the stuff I need. The hydro part will have to wait until tax time or maybe I'll win the lotto. At any rate the focus of this letter is determining what type of Thai pepper I have. When I bought them, they were seedlings and had a little plastic flag labeled "THAI HOT PEPPERS" hard to tell whether they are "Thai Hot" peppers or "Thai" hot peppers. From what I have gathered, Thai Hots are supposed to max out at about 12" in height, but these plants are currently 35" and big enough to hug. The fruit is very hot in my opinion. Let me say this though, I had six plants, all but one of them recieved Miracle Grow Tomato every day for the first month. The one that didn't started flowering at about 12-14", while the others didn't until they hit nearly 30" (they achieved blossoms at the same time). So my question is, are these Thai Hots, or some other type of Thai? Was it the Miracle Grow that made the size difference? Anyway, Thanks for spending A little time reading this, Peter Schneider
